The entry of Spain and Portugal into the EEC in 1986 marked a relaunch of bilateral relations. He also promoted contact between local authorities on both sides of a border, the Spanish-Portuguese, which had functioned as a real barrier in recent decades. Integrated fully in Europe, and thanks to sponsored cooperation policies at the heart of the Community framework, the border becomes a source of revulsion and closing another opening and contact (of a bridge barrier). Thus, open new lines of communication between actors Iberian, as it has occurred in the context of the so-called Euroregion Galicia-North of Portugal. In this contribution, is will briefly review the strengthening of economic, political, social and institutional relations in the space.
