The South Caucasus and Central Asia are the regions of growing strategic importance for the European Union. The presence of the EU in the area intended to be stabilizing but insufficient in view of conflict situations that occur, some of which are involved important international actors, mainly it is Russia. The current neighbourhood policy allows joint relations of the Union with the three Caucasian countries, not with the five Central Asia relegated to block the development.
